The Clarinet and Saxophone Society of Great Britain produces an interesting quarterly magazine for members. Members also get reduced rates for occasional courses/playdays, etc.
The British Flute Society fulfils a similar function for flute players.

Music Shops
Headwind Music Bristol’s specialist saxophone shop with great prices on reeds. Also sells clarinets and flutes and does repairs.
Trevor Jones is Bristol’s specialist woodwind shop. Check the opening hours before visit
Mickleburgh’s is a piano specialist but also has woodwind instruments, music and accessories.
Its possible to hire an instrument at all the above shops. This is a good way to find out whether or not you like an instrument if you’re not sure.

Andrew Roberts website The Clarinet Website has some useful info on clarinets and clarinet playing. He is also a genius at repairing/servicing clarinets, and a fantastic clarinetist and teacher. I highly recommend his summer school to advanced (grade 7 +) players.
